马来西亚中小企业公会（SMEAM）于2016年10月28日在马来西亚雪兰莪州（Selangor，Malaysia）的双威度假村与温泉酒店第15层楼的大泻湖会客厅（Grand Lagoon Ballroom，Level 15，Sunway Resorts & Spa Hotel），主办“2016年度企业白金奖（Platinum Business Awards 2016）颁奖典礼暨晚宴”，共颁发19个奖项予实至名归的优秀企业。
种植及原产业部长拿督斯里马袖强为大会开幕嘉宾，约计超过1300名来自于企业界、商会、各国大使馆、政府部门的贵宾共赴盛会。
在上述颁奖典礼上，《大橙报》荣获“最佳中小企业伙伴奖”（Top SME Supporter Award），由大橙传媒集团总裁陈叡萳（Ace Tang）代表公司上台领奖。
2016年度企业白金奖的主题为“大马专业，傲示全球”，总共颁发了19个奖项，其中包括4个新奖项：东盟杰出企业奖、杰出成就奖、中小企业卓越零售奖和中小企业卓越雇主奖。
马来西亚中小企业公会总会长拿督江华强指出：“马来西亚中小企业拥有尖端技术并成功进军国际市场，为本地中小企业树立榜样；2016年的主题是要表扬这些企业，并鼓励更多中小企业能持续创新以追求卓越。”
本届遴选委员会是由亚洲策略与领导研究院（ASLI）首席执行员丹斯里杨元庆博士所带领，秉持严格和专业的精神执行评估，确保企业白金奖是一项具水准的奖项，也是对马来西亚中小企业的一项殊荣。
自企业白金奖推介后，获中小企业的热烈反应，参加提名者来自于全国各地，其中18%来自北马、66%来自中马区、12%来自南马区以及4%来自东马。
企业白金奖的前身为中小型企业卓越成就奖，有着十四年的历史。此奖项主要宗旨是肯定及表扬拥有卓越表现的中小型企业。
迈进第十五个年头，马来西亚中小企业公会将这个历史悠久的奖项带入新的里程碑，并命名为企业白金奖，以提升奖项的崇高荣誉。
企业白金奖将跨越边界，增设东盟杰出企业奖，邀请东盟成员国的中小企业参与这项奖项。同时，主办当局也增设几个新奖项，这包括杰出成就奖，开放给在马来西亚（Malaysia）的外国企业；以及中小企业卓越零售奖和中小企业卓越雇主奖，以鼓励更多本地中小企业参与企业白金奖。
2016年度企业白金奖的主题定为‘大马专业，傲示全球’。马来西亚中小企业拥尖端的技术并成功进军国际市场，为本地中小企业立榜样。2016年的主题，是要表扬这些企业，并鼓励更多中小企业能够持续创新以追求卓越。
2016年度企业白金奖获得40个行业协会、商会、和媒体合作伙伴的支持。
马来西亚中小企业公会（前称为马来西亚中小工业公会）成立于1995年7月13日，目的是配合马来西亚中小工业，企业与商界的最佳利益，向他们推动和提供所需的支持，服务和解决方案。
成立至今，该公会举办了多种大型与国际性汇报会、座谈会，颁奖典礼和本土化项目，籍此教育，强化与推广本身的会员，以及马来西亚的中小工业，企业与商界。
